News on the Vino-Lok front from Down Under. The Australians are willing and able to experiment--I don't know if we are more cautious here in the U.S., are just too nervous to try anything new. My main beef with the below article is that the winery switching to Vino-Lok says their TCA problem has been growing--that is the opposite of my experience and unless the Aussies get all of the U.S.'s rejected cork, a misconcpetion or a lack of good quality control. An intensive and regimented cork qc program can reduce your overall TCA to less than 1%--not to say that 1% is good--but I can't imagine how lax qc must be to let 5% slip through.
